Our family is growing!

Luke and I have always known that we would adopt a baby at some point in our marriage. Luke is adopted and my family kept foster babies while I was growing up so adoption is something that is very near and dear to both of our hearts. We both have a heart for Memphis, and we are hoping that is where our next little Cantrell will come from. We have met with Life Choices for our orientation session, and the next step will be to turn in our huge packet of questions/fingerprints/Dr. approval, and then we will each have an interview as well as a joint interview with Life Choices. After that, we will have a home study, and then we will turn in a family “scrapbook”. The birth moms can look through the scrapbooks and that is how they will choose us to raise their baby! We are hoping to get everything done by the end of the summer, so that when Luke starts work, we will be ready to turn in our scrapbook and go into the pool of adoptive families. We are so excited about this next chapter in our lives and we are so appreciative of all of the support our friends and families have offered so far.
Which brings me to my next point! I have been so excited about this event, I cant wait to share! Would you like to be on our team to help us bring our baby home?! There is this awesome 5K fun run coming to Memphis (and other cities!) called the Color Run. I am not even going to try to describe it, because their website does such a good job. 3.1 miles of color madness. Take a second and check it out. Are you back? Ok, good. Looks awesome, doesn’t it?! We are going to form a team, Team Cantrell unless we think of something more clever, and sell t-shirts (mostly white,of course) for the race. Then, when you sign up, you can sign up to be on our team. That is the good part. If you sign up by yourself, it is $40. If you sign up to be on a team, it is $35. Our t-shirts are $11. So, you really are spending $6 more to get a t-shirt for race day and you help us bring our baby home!

Ok, I had some friends get on to me for selling the tshirts so cheap. If you would like to donate to our baby in addition to or in lieu of a tshirt, feel free! We hated to raise the price because we want people to participate! How awesome will it be to show Baby C how many people brought him/her home?

Third step: Sign up for The Color Run on your own. When we have a team name, I will announce it on here, and there will be a place to pick it in your registration. That will get you the team discount.
