We made it!!
We woke up the next morning to a magical winter wonderland.
This is the view from Lauren and Sara’s. Just beautiful!
These people are way too happy in the am.
After delicious waffles, we bundled up and headed out to explore the city!
Kate was enthralled with the train. Obviously.
The bean! At this point, Preston was sound asleep (see him slumped over in the stroller?) and Sam was screaming his head off. It was cold!!!
We decided a snack at Panera would make everyone happy!
Preston spotted the super hero store from the window and had to go check it out!
I think smart cars are hilarious…and so does Kate.
She LOVED the men playing in the train station. She made several trips to their money bucket and was dancing. So cute! I dont know how anyone could stand there and not dance!
The only thing she wanted to do the whole day was make snow angels. We stopped at a park right by there home.
Jake enjoyed the park too!
The next morning, Kate directed a play for our enjoyment. Sara was the curtain. Well played, Sara.
We made it to the AG store in time for our lunch reservation!! We were so excited!! (especially Pres who was asleep in the stroller again.) Mama, Kate, Sam, and I went to AG and Jake and Pres explored the mall, had lunch, and went to the Lego Store.
The adorable restaurant.
I have honestly never seen her so excited about anything in her life. It was the cutest thing!
The restaurant was adorable! The decor was so cute, they had high chairs and tea cups for the dolls, and the food was good!
I had to bring along one of my dolls. Right before we pulled out of the driveway at my parents, I ran up to my attic and grabbed Samantha. Kirsten was going to get to come, but she was in her Christmas dress ;)
Kate saw them singing to another little girl. She was so worried they werent going to know it was her birthday, too! (I am sure they didnt notice the huge leopard print bday hat, Kate.)
Cannot believe my girl is 5!!!
This was right after we found out our waiter was from Alabama. Kate looked up at him with her big blue eyes and said softly, “Roll Tide?” He died out laughing and said, that , yes, Alabama was his team!
“Mom, I am going to pose in front of the star!”
Her birthday gifts! Luke and I got her a new outfit for Caroling, and KK and Pawpaw got her a new outfit for Bitty Baby and a matching one for her. She was so happy!
Then we found these studs!
And we had to immediately change Bitty’s clothes!
We had an absolutely wonderful time in Chicago. I would love to go back when it is a little warmer!
