Spring Break!!

On Tuesday, my mom, Jake, the kids, and I packed up for a tour of the midwest! Our first stop was Chicago to see Lauren and Sara, and then we headed to Indianapolis to visit Blake and Chelsea. Jake was so excited to be in the backseat with the three kids.WP_20140311_002 First stop, Mexican!

WP_20140311_005 WP_20140311_012 We made it!!WP_20140311_025 We woke up the next morning to a magical winter wonderland.IMG_6654 IMG_6659This is the view from Lauren and Sara’s. Just beautiful! WP_20140312_002 These people are way too happy in the am. IMG_6661 IMG_6663 After delicious waffles, we bundled up and headed out to explore the city!IMG_6678 Kate was enthralled with the train. Obviously.IMG_6683 IMG_6686 IMG_6687 IMG_6688 The bean! At this point, Preston was sound asleep (see him slumped over in the stroller?) and Sam was screaming his head off. It was cold!!!IMG_6690 IMG_6694 IMG_6715IMG_6712 We decided a snack at Panera would make everyone happy!IMG_6725 IMG_6729Preston spotted the super hero store from the window and had to go check it out! IMG_6737 IMG_6743I think smart cars are hilarious…and so does Kate. IMG_6755 She LOVED the men playing in the train station. She made several trips to their money bucket and was dancing. So cute! I dont know how anyone could stand there and not dance!IMG_6782 The only thing she wanted to do the whole day was make snow angels. We stopped at a park right by there home.IMG_6783 IMG_6786 IMG_6787 Jake enjoyed the park too!IMG_6792 The next morning, Kate directed a play for our enjoyment. Sara was the curtain. Well played, Sara.IMG_6796 IMG_6797 IMG_6798 IMG_6802 IMG_6809

We made it to the AG store in time for our lunch reservation!! We were so excited!! (especially Pres who was asleep in the stroller again.) Mama, Kate, Sam, and I went to AG and Jake and Pres explored the mall, had lunch, and went to the Lego Store. IMG_6815 IMG_6835 The adorable restaurant.IMG_6848 I have honestly never seen her so excited about anything in her life. It was the cutest thing!IMG_6861 The restaurant was adorable! The decor was so cute, they had high chairs and tea cups for the dolls, and the food was good!

IMG_6863I had to bring along one of my dolls. Right before we pulled out of the driveway at my parents, I ran up to my attic and grabbed Samantha. Kirsten was going to get to come, but she was in her Christmas dress ;) IMG_6867 IMG_6868 IMG_6869 IMG_6871 IMG_6889 IMG_6898 Kate saw them singing to another little girl. She was so worried they werent going to know it was her birthday, too! (I am sure they didnt notice the huge leopard print bday hat, Kate.)IMG_6902

IMG_6907 Cannot believe my girl is 5!!!

IMG_6910 IMG_6911 This was right after we found out our waiter was from Alabama. Kate looked up at him with her big blue eyes and said softly, “Roll Tide?” He died out laughing and said, that , yes, Alabama was his team!IMG_6912

“Mom, I am going to pose in front of the star!”

IMG_6924 IMG_6929 IMG_6934 Her birthday gifts! Luke and I got her a new outfit for Caroling, and KK and Pawpaw got her a new outfit for Bitty Baby and a matching one for her. She was so happy!

WP_20140313_008 WP_20140313_012 Then we found these studs!WP_20140313_020 WP_20140313_026 And we had to immediately change Bitty’s clothes!WP_20140313_029

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Chicago. I would love to go back when it is a little warmer!
