Here comes Peter Cottontail

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. Easter is just about my favorite holiday, and I think this one was one of the best. The kids and I joined Granny T on the Square for an egg hunt on Good Friday. I took the kids by myself last year, and I vowed to never go again. There was way too much chaos for it to even be enjoyable. This year, it was wonderful! I completely take back any words of negativity towards this event. It was not nearly as crowded, and the kids had a wonderful time!IMG_1662 IMG_1667 IMG_1669 IMG_1672 IMG_1675 IMG_1681 IMG_1685

IMG_1702 After the egg hunt, we went to the square to visit the EB again, and to get a little lunch at the cookie shop!IMG_1713 IMG_1714 IMG_1721

Friday night, we had our annual Spring Birthday fish fry at Daddy Doc and Granny Ts. The fish was delicious, and we enjoyed hanging out outside.IMG_1724 IMG_1734

This was our first trial run with sponge rollers! Her hair was adorable all say Saturday! I think I slept in these every Saturday night of my childhood.IMG_1740

On Easter morning, the Big Bunny had indeed come for a visit! The kids were super excited about their baskets  and the trail of eggs left around the den. IMG_1741 IMG_1747 IMG_1751 IMG_1752 IMG_1753 IMG_1760 IMG_1763 IMG_1767 IMG_1772

Luke got a basket full of study food!

We headed to church for a wonderful service. Every song brought tears to my eyes. I dont know what it was about this year, but I think I just appreciated a little bit more that God gave us his Son, and we are pitiful rags in exchange. We enjoyed a yummy Easter lunch at my parents following that, complete with the annual family pics. Overall, it was a perfectly celebrated weekend!

Up from the grave he arose; with a mighty triumph o'er his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever, with his saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

I just have to admit that when I was little I really thought the words to that song were "up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph for his toes..." Hahaha.
