Week of The Color Run

Hey Yall!It is Color Run time! I am so excited about Saturday...almost as awesome as Christmas, almost. On Friday night, we are having the Pre Party! Everyone is invited, so let me know if you plan on being there so we can have enough sketti for ya!

Make sure you go pick up your race gear on Thursday or Friday. It is at the Sports Authority on Poplar. You can find out all of the info about that here: http://thecolorrun.com/memphis/.

On Saturday, we would love to get a group picture at 8:30 on the backside of the fountain at Tiger Lane. (the side on the grass).On this map, it would be at the end of Tiger Lane N and S directly to the left of the Liberty Bowl. The race starts at 9, but they are letting groups go in intervals until 10. I would love to get the pic and then be able to head over to the starting line. You might want to get there a tad earlier to allow time to park and walk. I will have some balloons to show where we are!

Birthdays

I have celebrated several birthdays of friends lately and I just made the observation how different they are now than several years ago. Haha!

This was for my friend Stefanie’s bday! Her hubby let the kids decorate the cake…

At the end of August, I got to celebrate a friend’s bday who I have celebrated many times before. We were just much younger and the day was about us….now we have 4 kids between the two of us, so a pool day and a haphazard banner made her day special. I loved getting to hang out with her and her kiddies!

In September, Jake turned 15…how can this be?! Now he is officially older than I was when he was born. I cant believe what an awesome guy he is…and how much my kiddos love him!

We helped Reed get his dinosaur birthday weekend going with Storytime on the Square. This is a free story time and snack on the Collierville Square every Friday at 10:45. If you dont go, you should! It is wonderful!

The next morning, we left bright and early for Audrie’s birthday party. It was at a splash park near her house, and the kids had a blast! (I think Papa Q did too!)

She had the cutest cake I had ever seen!

Her new toy…Kate did an awesome job with self control…sometimes it is hard being the older sister/cousin who knows how to do everything!

We also got to celebrate Luke’s 31 birthday last Friday at ChuckECheese…where a kid can be a kid, right? Or is that Toys R Us? Anyway, we had a fun time with some yummy pizza and a stack of tokens.

 

When we got home, he also had a surprise visitor on the front porch..hahaha!

On Saturday morning, we went to a birthday party at Shelby Farms. We got to eat donuts and play outside. It was a little chilly, but I was so excited to bust out some actual fall clothes!

The Color Run is coming up very soon!!! I am getting so excited getting prepared for all of the crazy color fun that awaits us! I just got the tshirt design in, and I LOVE IT! I hope you do too. I cant wait to see all of these shirts colored in the rainbow "paint". Remember how I said my goal was to sell 20 shirts? I put in my order for 103 shirts. That is just awesome, yall! We are so excited to be hosting this fundraiser for Baby C and I promise we are going to have a blast! Spaghetti dinner, a delicious dessert and a Twister tournament! Bring those bucks to bring Baby C home! (Suggested donation for dinner is what you would spend on a Friday night dinner out on the town; Twister Tournament is $10 per person. Done, Son!

Well, a whole new chapter of my life has closed...and another one has opened! I had my last night of work two Thursdays ago! Luke started work Monday, the 27th, and our long term plan was for me to stay home! Leaving work was definitely bittersweet for me because I absolutely LOVE my job. I work with the best group of women and get to take care of precious newborns and their mamas. My work friends had become like a family...we were together 8-12 hours a night 2-4 nights a week. I had shared all my stories, all my new mom concerns, frustrations after the wreck with these ladies, and they gave advice, a hug, and laughs when needed. I have spent more holidays with them than with my family for 5 years! I love them and will miss them terribly. I am so glad we can still meet up for lunch, and I am so glad to get to sleep all night every night from now on!
