You are due in 4 weeks and one day. I cannot believe how quickly the time has flown! I can't wait to kiss your sweet head, and see who you look like! Please stay put for at least 2 more weeks...I don't want you to have blood sugar checks when you come out. I stick babies everyday, but I don't think I will like it if you cry! Your Daddy and I have been preparing for you for so long, and the last minute plans are coming together. I packed your bag for the hospital yesterday...I hope you like the outfits I picked out. I think you will look adorable! Also, while you are baking these last few weeks, if you could unwrap your toes from my ribcage I would really appreciate it. Your Daddy says I am getting payback from all of the times I have pinched him with my toes, but I know you are sweeter than that. You really had me worried on Saturday when I didn't feel you flipping around like you normally do, but you came to the rescue that night with your acrobatic act. I love watching my stomach roll around, and it makes me so excited to be able to hold you VERY soon! Your Dad laughs at me everytime I feel you move because it still amazes me-Everytime! He is so excited about your arrival, and it is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I hope you are a complete Daddy's Girl. When you are a bratty teenager (what girl isn't?), I will be the bad guy so you will still think he is wonderful. I want you to measure all of your dates against him (that should cut out all losers....and lots of dates!) He has taken such good care of us these last 36 weeks...giving back rubs without being asked, letting me nap when I am tired, and playing along with my silly games! He will let me sit in the glider in your room while he pulls out your clothes one by one for my to admire...and he doesn't even complain...much. How sweet is that? He has gone to every doctor's appointment just so he can hear your heartbeat. Little girl, you have a lot of people loving you already. I hope you are ready to be spoiled rotten by your grandparents, aunts, uncles, great-grandparents, and everyone else! That is all I have for now; I just realized how close I was getting to being able to meet you, and I wanted you to know how much I love being your Mom already.
love, Kate's Mama
If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle."

That is a precious letter. You will have a love for her that you can't understand until you finally see YOUR BABY outside your belly. Nothing can prepare you for it. I love the quote at the end- that's EXACTLY Brody. When his eyes pop open in the morning, he is cooing and smiling and I can't wait to go pick him up.
Yall are going to be wonderful parents.
Very sweet! I know you guys are so excited and I can't believe you only have 4 weeks left. Time have flown by. We can't wait to meet baby Kate.
Thanks a lot! I just teared up and got all blotchy-faced at work, and I have to go to court in a few minutes!
What a sweet letter. Baby Kate is so lucky to have such great parents.
What a sweet letter! Kate is lucky to have such great parents! Baby Kate will be here before you know it and you won't remember your life before her!
thanks for making me cry at work when I am not suppossed to be reading blogs!
Dear Baby Kate,
There are a few more things you need to know...your mom is going to dress you in lots of pink frilly clothes and possibly lime green feathers...just embrace it, pretend you like lime green, and smile...she did carry you around for nine long and somewhat uncomfortable months (so I've heard). She is one of the sweetest mommies in the whole wide world; you will learn so much from her about being a wonderful mom, wife, and friend...she may also teach you some of her dance moves that will come in handy one day...so let her have her way when it comes to clothes at least for the first 18 years. Next, just get ready for your daddy to pull out and polish his guns anytime a boy comes over; it's just because he was a boy once and he loves you so much. And I hope you will like to ride fourwheelers because I'm pretty sure he bought you a pink one from some guy down the road. I don't know your Cantrell grandmother that well, but I know she is wonderful...that Bousson lady on the other hand is crazy! Watch out...she may get you into trouble, and your granddaddy has a tatoo, but don't tell your mom and dad I told you. Lastly, Bandito is the greatest dog in the world next to your Auntie Laurette's dog Maggie. He will be your best friend and probably share his toys...I wouldn't advise that you NOT put them in your mouth-they have lots of germs, but your Auntie Laurette will teach you all about those. Bandit also told me to tell you that he would prefer you not pull on his tail. That's all I have for now. Can't wait to meet you!
Love,
Auntie WaWa
Love you and can't wait to meet baby KATE!
Yes, I am crying at work too. Geez that was touching.
And to sweet Kate,
Your mother likes to throw raw hot dogs at people's faces. You will need that bit of information during curfew negotiations in the future.
Auntie Butts.
I am boo-hooing right now.
Little Kate, I just can't wait to meet you! You have a lot of people who love you already and lots of Aunties all over the place who can't wait to play with you and hold you and dress you up! Look for me when you get her, I will be the really cute redheaded girl crying like a crazy person!! Ha ha.
Love, Auntie Lindsey
THAT WAS THE SWEETEST THING EVER!!!!

Awe!! I hadn't checked up on your blog lately, and I missed this sweet entry. I too, teared up at work. I can't wait for Kate to get here...she will truly know how much she is loved, by the crowds that I know will gather in your hosipital room the second we get word she's here!! I can't wait to meet her and can't wait to see what a wonderful mother you will be, Amanda!! I'm so excited for you and Luke!!
Love!
