What pregnant girls do best...

Eat and Enjoy being pampered! In our lovely town of Byhalia/Warsaw two men set up a funnel cake stand on the weekends. We were fortunate enough to catch them when they had chicken on a stick. I enjoyed every bite of this delicacy, and it was as good as the Chevron in Oxford. Yum yum! My family shower was February 15th at the Parsons House. The games were fun (truly, they were!), the food was delicious, and we got a ton of nice things!

The Cutest Boy's work had a shower for us on Friday. They were all so excited and so sweet! They cake was precious (as you can see), and Luke opened a ton of nice things! Yes, Luke had to open the gifts, and he did a perfect job oohing and ahhing at the proper times. Someone got pictures of him opening presents, so I will have to post them when I can get my hands on them!

Our Church Shower was this past Saturday at Elizabeth Harville's House. She is such the Martha Stewart! All of the decorations were precious, and most were handmade by Aunt E herself. Come to find out, a lot of girls in our not-so-small group are very artsy fartsy :) I am so impressed (aka jealous) of everyone's secret powers! My mom has some pics with actual people in them, so I will get those up as soon as I can figure out how to get them off her Apple and onto shutterfly. We took a picture of my mom and all of her Quince Rd friends who were pregnant with their babies the same time she was pregnant with me, and then took a picture of a group of my church friends. We were both blessed with having a group of girls to do life with!

Every shower we have had has been so different, and so special. It is truly humbling to be surrounded by so many people excited about the little life that is about to begin. I am reminded everyday of how lucky I am to have wonderful friends in my life. I appreciate each and every one of you, the old, and the new!

Kate's Daddy

Have I told yall lately how much I love The Cutest Boy in the World? He woke me up on Valentine's Day with breakfast in bed, a vase of beautiful yellow roses, and a hard day of working around the house! I am so proud to be his wife, and can't wait to see him in action as Kate's Daddy! We finished childbirth class last week, and it was so funny to watch him learn about giving birth, and what to do when we get home! I think we are ready!

Kate's Big Brother

Dear Readers, I am so excited about Kate's arrival, but I wanted yall to see how cute I am before she gets here. I have a feeling I am going to take a backseat to this "baby" that is coming to live at my house. Mom and Dad say that I have to be really sweet and not lick her in the face or bark while she's sleeping. What do they think I am, some kind of animal? I am looking forward to rocking with her in the glider and when she gets old enough, I think she will drop me food from her pretty high chair. How could she resist these eyes? Anyway, here is a recap of my last few months. Hope you enjoy, and please don't forget about me after my bundle of joy arrives.

Dear Kate,

You are due in 4 weeks and one day. I cannot believe how quickly the time has flown! I can't wait to kiss your sweet head, and see who you look like! Please stay put for at least 2 more weeks...I don't want you to have blood sugar checks when you come out. I stick babies everyday, but I don't think I will like it if you cry! Your Daddy and I have been preparing for you for so long, and the last minute plans are coming together. I packed your bag for the hospital yesterday...I hope you like the outfits I picked out. I think you will look adorable! Also, while you are baking these last few weeks, if you could unwrap your toes from my ribcage I would really appreciate it. Your Daddy says I am getting payback from all of the times I have pinched him with my toes, but I know you are sweeter than that. You really had me worried on Saturday when I didn't feel you flipping around like you normally do, but you came to the rescue that night with your acrobatic act. I love watching my stomach roll around, and it makes me so excited to be able to hold you VERY soon! Your Dad laughs at me everytime I feel you move because it still amazes me-Everytime! He is so excited about your arrival, and it is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I hope you are a complete Daddy's Girl. When you are a bratty teenager (what girl isn't?), I will be the bad guy so you will still think he is wonderful. I want you to measure all of your dates against him (that should cut out all losers....and lots of dates!) He has taken such good care of us these last 36 weeks...giving back rubs without being asked, letting me nap when I am tired, and playing along with my silly games! He will let me sit in the glider in your room while he pulls out your clothes one by one for my to admire...and he doesn't even complain...much. How sweet is that? He has gone to every doctor's appointment just so he can hear your heartbeat. Little girl, you have a lot of people loving you already. I hope you are ready to be spoiled rotten by your grandparents, aunts, uncles, great-grandparents, and everyone else! That is all I have for now; I just realized how close I was getting to being able to meet you, and I wanted you to know how much I love being your Mom already. love, Kate's Mama
If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle." -Vincent Van Gogh
